Bible Study provides an opportunity for those who have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior to strengthen their relationship with God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit, which is our comforter and guide. It is important to remember that accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is the initial step in living a life that is acceptable in the sight of God. Therefore, Bible Study plays a major role as it pertains to Romans 12:2, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” A transformation must take place in the lives of those who have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior by not conforming to this world, but by being transformed by the renewing of their minds, which occurs through studying the Word of God. No one can change his or her behavior, attitude, or desires without changing the way in which one thinks. Bible Study is designed to empower those who have accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior to think according to God’s Word, which transforms his or her behavior, attitude, desires by washing out thoughts that conform to the world and replace them with thoughts that conform to the Will of God. One of the major mistakes people make when they first accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, is not to attend Bible Study on a regular basis at church as well as allocate time for personal Bible study at home. If a person plans to fulfill Matthew 24:13, “But he who endures to the end shall be saved,” Bible Study must be incorporated as a part of his or her lifestyle.
