This message is about a parable told by Jesus Christ in Matthew 25:1-13, designed to warn and awaken humanity to the reality of Jesus Christ second coming and the importance of being ready. Matthew 25:1 states “Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.” The symbolism in the parable: Bridegroom (Jesus Christ); Bride (Church); 10 virgins (Professors of Christ/members of the church).
- The virgins were to wait and be ready for the coming of the Bridegroom.
- Their primary function was to have lights (lamps/oil) in their hands to provide light for Him to see the path that led to the Bride’s house.
Jesus points out that five of the virgins were wise and five of the virgins were foolish. He heighted that the wise virgins were prepared to meet the Bridegroom and foolish virgins were not prepared. Therefore, we better be ready for Jesus Christ return, if we plan to spend eternality with God.
