God’s Order In The Church
If you have ever enter into a courtroom – you enter into it with a certain mindset. That is, you know upfront that the judge controls the courtroom. When he or she enters the courtroom-everyone is expected to rise, which shows respect for the judge.
When we are in a courtroom-we must conduct ourselves in an orderly manner to remain in the courtroom. If we act disorderly, the judge will call for order in the court and if we refuse-he or she will have us removed, so the business of the court can continue.
It is amazing how saved/unsaved people respect the office of a judge. There are two reasons the judge receives honor/respect:
- Some people respect his or her authority.
- Some people fear his or her power.
How can a worldly system like a courtroom maintain order-But the church is allowed to become so disorderly?
- Saved and unsaved people conform to the courtroom system in spite of what they think or feel.
God is a God of order – It is not God’s will that the world, church and our personal lives are in a state of confusion and chaos. Genesis 1 – God began to speak order in a formless world
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth (Gen. 1:1). Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters (Gen. 1:2). God created an orderly world out of nothingness.
Point one–We must believe that God is the creator and sustainer of the universe.
- God is all powerful (Genesis 17:1)
- God is all knowing (Ro. 11:33-36)
- God is everywhere (Ps. 139:7-16)
The Word of God reveals the order of the church.
Point 2 – Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church
Church – a local gathering of believers along with the redeemed of all ages who follow Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord (Matthew 16:18). Christ is the head of the church and the Savior of the body (Eph.5:23).
Ephesians 4:11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ
Point 3 -Believer’s makeup the Body of Christ
