This message is about the family and how many families are suffering from not “Doing Things God’s Way.”  Satan uses the following strategies to defeat families.

Strategy 1 – Division – Effectively find a way to divide the husband and wife.

Strategy 2 – Effectively find a way to divide the parents from the children.

Matthew 12:25 – Jesus knew what the Pharisees were thinking. So he said to them, “Every kingdom that fights against itself will be destroyed. And every city or family that is divided against itself will not survive.

How to defeat Satan – Doing Things God’s Way

The family starts out with a husband and wife.

What does God expect of the husband and wife?

Ephesians 5:21 – Be willing to serve (Submit; Be subject; L …yielding/submitting) each other out of respect for Christ.

Ephesians 5:22 – Wives, be willing to serve (Submit; Be subject; L …yielding/submitting) your husbands the same as the Lord. 23 A husband is the head of his wife, just as Christ is the head of the church.

Joshua 24:15 – And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of [a]the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

Ephesians 5: 25 Husbands, love your wives the same as Christ loved the church and gave his life for it. 26 He died to make the church holy. He used the telling of the Good News to make the church clean by washing it with water.

Proverbs 22:6 Train children ·to live the right way [ in their/or his path;  referring either to children or to God], and when they are old, they will not ·stray [depart] from it.

Ephesians 6:1 Children, obey your parents the way the Lord wants, because this is the right thing to do. 2 The command says, “You must respect your father and mother.” This is the first command that has a promise with it. 3 And this is the promise: “Then all will go well with you, and you will have a long life on the earth.”  4 Fathers, don’t make your children angry, but raise them with the kind of teaching and training you learn from the Lord.
